Defining Space through Value and Placement
The initial component of Microsoft's recently introduced Fluent Design System is based on the concept of light. As per their description, light serves as an essential factor in creating an ambiance and establishing a sense of place. Furthermore, it is a useful means of illuminating information.
In the context of this particular project, light assumes a valuable role in establishing the spatial grid. The values of individual squares serve to indicate the intervals between planes, while the placement of these squares must adhere to the overall consistency of the ground, thereby creating a sense of depth.
